Create Your Own Funeral Companion Handbook

Choose the information that's right for you

When someone dies, there can be an overwhelming amount of information to take in — often at a time when people are least able to think clearly.

The Funeral Companion’s Create Your Own Handbook allows you to choose the information that is most relevant to you and bring it together into one practical, personalised handbook.

How it works

There are up to 77 different pages and options available to choose from. You can select up to 20 pages to create a handbook that is tailored to your own circumstances and the information you feel you need.

The choices include practical information, guidance, useful resources, checklists and other helpful pages.

More than the website

The handbook is not simply a printed copy of the website

.Not all of the checklists and practical resources are available on the website, and some of the printed handbook pages contain additional information and detail that isn't included on the corresponding website pages.

The aim is to give you something practical that you can keep beside you, write on, refer back to and use at your own pace.

Who might find it useful?

The handbook may be helpful for:

  • Someone who has recently been bereaved
  • Someone preparing for the death of a loved one
  • Someone helping to organise a funeral
  • Family members supporting someone who has died
  • Anyone who wants to be better prepared in advance

It may also be useful for professionals and organisations supporting people through bereavement, including healthcare professionals, counsellors, hospices, support services and community organisations.

Multiple-copy orders

If you are a professional or organisation, or simply need more than one handbook, discounts are available for multiple-copy orders.
