Mortuary

Most hospital deaths in Havering are cared for at the mortuary at:

  • Queen's Hospital, Romford.

If someone dies at home or elsewhere, they may also be taken to the hospital mortuary or another mortuary as directed by the coroner or the funeral director, depending on the circumstances.


Coroner

Deaths in Havering that need to be investigated are dealt with by the East London Coroner's Service. The coroner investigates deaths that are sudden, unexpected, violent, unnatural, or where the cause of death is unknown before deciding whether further investigation or an inquest is required.
